Frozen Seafood Specification Checklist

Give producers the same specification so quotations can be compared.

Identify the product

Give the common name and scientific name if known, plus whole, gutted, steak, fillet, cleaned or other processing. Say IQF or block where required.

Separate size from packing

Record individual fish size or shrimp count grade, including units. Separately state net pack weight, glaze requirements, inner packing and master-carton configuration.

Specify your purchasing requirements

Include target quantity, destination port, shipment timing, preferred origin, required documents and proposed Incoterm. Where a value is unknown, ask for options rather than guessing.
