United Friends’ Global Seafood (UFG SEAFOOD) is a Chicago-based sourcing and export company. We work with producers and exporters in Asia and coordinate specifications, documents and shipment for importers, wholesalers and distributors.

Our role
What UFG does — and what is confirmed on each order.
UFG SEAFOOD is both an exporter and a sourcing agent/broker. Depending on the order, we sell the goods in our own name (taking title to them) or act as agent/broker between you and Asian producers. The capacity, parties and documents for your order are stated on the quotation.
What we do
Supply frozen seafood from Asia as the seller of the goods, or arrange it as sourcing agent/broker between you and the producer — and coordinate specifications, quotations, documents and shipment.
Confirmed per order
The supplier and facility, product specification and packing, whether UFG sells to you directly (taking title to the goods) or acts as agent/broker, the shipping parties, the Incoterm and the documents required for your destination.
Credentials
Food-safety and sustainability certificates belong to the individual supplier or facility. Which ones apply to your product and destination is confirmed on the quotation.

MOQ depends on species and supplier and is confirmed on the quotation. Send an inquiry with your target quantity.
Which Incoterms and payment terms do you offer?
Incoterms and payment terms are set out in the quotation and signed contract. Incoterms commonly used for sea freight include FOB, CFR and CIF.
Can you source a species that is not in the catalogue?
We can check availability with producers. Tell us the species, size, packing and target volume; availability is not guaranteed until confirmed on a quotation.
Which documents and certificates are provided?
Documents depend on the supplier, product and destination and are confirmed on the quotation. Examples: health certificate, certificate of origin, bill of lading, packing list, invoice, and supplier certificates such as HACCP, BRC, ISO 22000, ASC/MSC or EU approval where applicable.
How long does shipping take?
Transit time depends on the origin and destination port and is discussed in the quotation.
